"Is this audition for me?"
12 Questions to Ask Yourself Before You Sign Up
Auditions pop up all the time. We see them and get excited at the possibility of what could happen if we book from that audition. However, do we ever take a moment to really check out what the Audition Notice shares to know if it’s for us or not?
The “Is this for ME?” Audition Checklist will help you ask questions about the Audition Notices you come across to help you determine that for yourself.

What information does the Audition Notice tell you up front? (Have a copy of the Audition Notice with you as you go through these next steps so you can see what may be missing that you need to know.)
When and where will the auditions be held?
Will I be able to attend all required auditions and/or callbacks? If the answer is no, do they offer an alternate audition? Do I feel comfortable asking this company about submitting an alternate audition? If yes, then whom do you contact?
Which company, group, or producer is holding auditions? What do I know about them? Do I need to know anything about them in order to feel confident auditioning for them? If so, what do I need to know?
What roles do they have that fit my Character Type?
Do these Characters fit my Actor Values and Boundaries?
Are there any special skills needed for any of the Characters I’m auditioning for? (Ex: Singing, Able to Play an Instrument, Dialect(s), Stage Combat, etc.) If so, what are they and do I have them?
When and where will rehearsals be?
What conflicts do I have at this time?
Is this a paid position or not?
Is there anything I need to know about this show, the production, and the people involved before deciding to audition or not?
After reviewing all of the information from the prior questions - is this the audition for me?
